Files required for CAM programming
A correct evaluation starts from the geometry, requirements and actual context of the machine.
Recommended minimum set
- 3D STEP or Parasolid model;
- PDF drawing with tolerances and important surfaces;
- material and semi-finished product;
- quantity and term;
- machine, CNC control and number of axes;
- information about fixing and available tools.
Why drawing matters
The 3D model describes the geometry, but the drawing may contain tolerances, roughnesses, and requirements that change the machining strategy.
